Brief Introduction
James Tian is an Of Counsel at Allbright Law Offices in Beijing, China. Prior to that, James was a General Counsel at Korean giant SK Group China in charge of all legal corporate affairs for the group business in China, especially for SK Telecom, SK Hynix and SK Holdings. He undertook the general legal corporate works primarily in merger & acquisition, antitrust, litigation and arbitration, and compliance, etc. He has extensive experience in telecommunication, media, technologies, sports, entertainment, intellectual property protection and alternative disputes resolution after he has worked for Siemens, Ericsson, News Corp, Telstra and Cisco as corporate counsels or senior corporate counsels over twenty years.
James holds LL.B at Shanghai University School of Law, and LL.M in International Economic Law at Law Institute of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, and JD at Washington University School of Law. James is an arbitrator of Beijing Arbitration Commission/Beijing International Arbitration Centre (BAC/BIAC), and Qingdao Arbitration Commission, respectively. He is also appointed as a mediator at Mediation Centre under China Council for the Promotion of International Trade/ China Chamber of International Commerce, and a China Specialist Mediator under Singapore International Mediation Centre. Meanwhile, He is one of the directors under China Group Companies Association.
James has been recognized as one of the leading arbitrators and experts in sports, entertainment and technologies. He has hands-on experience to deal with the cases since he has handled a number of arbitral ones in relation to such areas over years. He has been often engaged in key events sponsored by and on behalf of BAC/BIAC.
