Brief Introduction
Mr. Hu is a partner of Jingtian & Gongcheng, Beijing. Mr. Hu specializes in dispute resolution, with a focus on litigation and arbitration in cross-border commercial and IP-related matters, and on data privacy and cyber-security. Mr. Hu acted for international and domestic clients in many complex, high-stake and high-profile court proceedings, and has also represented clients in arbitration proceedings under the Rules of CIETAC, BAC, HKIAC, ICC, SIAC, SCC and UNCITRAL. He resolves problems in relation to corporate matters, investment, banking and finance, trade, product liability, energy, entertainment and culture, technology licensing, IP protection, unfair competition, and recognition and enforcement of oversea arbitral awards and court judgments. In the area of IP and competition law, Mr. Hu is a season litigator with rich experience in handling cases before various courts, including the Supreme People’s Court, and in international arbitration proceedings related to technology licensing and confidentiality agreements. He acted as counsel in many landmark cases, including China’s first car design patent infringement lawsuit, first fan-fiction related copyright and unfair competition lawsuit, and first preliminary injunction restraining the use of a registered trade name. In 2018, Mr. Hu was recognized as a “Future Leader” in international arbitration by Who’s Who Legal, a “Rising Star” in dispute resolution by Asialaw, and an “up-and-coming” dispute specialist by Chambers. Mr. Hu obtained his LLM degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his LLB degree from Peking University. Mr. Hu is qualified in China and New York. He is a member of IBA Arb-40 Steering Committee.
