Brief Introduction
Alba Briones focuses her practice on arbitration, both in commercial and investment disputes. She brings extensive experience in construction, engineering, corporate and contractual dispute resolution.
Alba has acted before the leading arbitration institutions in Spain and abroad, including the ICC, ICSID, Madrid Court of Arbitration and ICDR, as Arbitrator, Counsel or Secretary to Arbitral Tribunals. She was Senior Associate at Hogan Lovells and, since April 2020, she practices independently as an arbitrator.
Alba obtained dual degrees in Law (2008) and Business Management (2009) by the Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, where she took part in an exchange program at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing (2008-2009). In 2010 she was granted a Scholarship by the UAM to study Introduction to Chinese Law in Beijing. She obtained her Masters Degree in Business Law, by the Instituto de Empresa (2014), and is admitted to the Madrid Bar.
Alba is a frequent speaker on arbitration, and she collaborates with institutions and universities on the subject. She was a founding member of the Spanish Engineering and Construction Club, Co-Chair of the Spanish Arbitration Club under forty (2013-2014) and she coaches the LLM students at Universidad de Navarra on International Arbitration.
