Brief Introduction
BAO Zhi is a partner in Fen Xun Partners. Mr. Bao’s practice focuses on foreign direct investment, mergers and acquisitions, private qruity, overseas listings and antitrust,all disciplines which he made his own during his over seven years witj the Ministry of Commerce in Beijing and subsequently at a leading PRC law firm. He has worked, for multilateral, multinational and state-owned and private clients such as IFC, GE, Charter International, Ericsson, Rockwell, CITIC Capital, Baring Capital, Hony Capital, CCB International, China Life, China Resources, Chem China, CNOOC, and COFCO. As a key member of the MOFCOM legislation team, Mr. Bao was responsible for drafting a series of regulations in respect of foreign investments, includeing the Regulations for Merger and Acquisition of Domestic Enterprises by Foreign investments, including the Regulations for Merger and Acquisition of Domestic Enterprises by Foreign Investors,the Measures for Strategic Investment by Foreign Investors upon Listed COFCOM reviews of foreign investments, cross-border mergers and acquisitions and antimonopoly filings.Mr. Bao has pioneered unique, tested transformations of offshore ownership transaction structures into onshore ownership structures for important clients. Mr. Bao actively participates in the development of public policies in the PE/VC area. He is legal counsel of the China Association of Private Equity. He serves as a member of the Industrial Policy Committee of the CVCA and one of the principal drafters of rervant industrial self-regulatory policy to be issued by the VCPE. Me. Bao received his education from Anhui University, East China University of Politics and Law and University of California, Berkeley.He is fluent in Chinese and English.
