Jim is Legal Director for the Global Corporate Legal function at COFCO International, based in Geneva. He started his legal career at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London before taking up an in-house position at MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company focusing on infrastructure and logistics investments worldwide. In 2018, he joined COFCO International, where his responsibilities cover corporate and finance matters in the broadest sense. He has led M&A projects on six continents, multi-billion-dollar financing rounds, global corporate re-organisations, and joint venture shareholder disputes. He has also acted on various foreign direct investment matters, antitrust and competition matters (contentious and non-contentious), insolvency-related issues, cross-border security arrangements, investments, and divestments. Jim holds an MA (Cantab.) from the University of Cambridge and is a qualified Solicitor (England and Wales).
