Brief Introduction
Professor Christopher To is a barrister-at-law at Gilt Chambers, Chartered Arbitrator, Certified Adjudicator, Accredited Mediator, Chartered Engineer and Chartered Information Technology Professional. He acts as arbitrator, adjudicator, mediator and counsel in complex international commercial, construction, engineering, technology and financial disputes.
He is Programme Director of the LLM in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution at City University of Hong Kong and an Adjunct Professor of Management at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business School, where he contributes to MBA and postgraduate teaching. He is a former Secretary-General of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and Founding Executive Director of the Construction Industry Council.
Professor To serves on the panels of leading international dispute-resolution institutions and holds public and professional appointments across arbitration, mediation, construction and financial dispute resolution. His current roles include Chairperson of the Hong Kong Mediation Council, Chairperson of the Buildings Appeal Tribunal, member of the Securities and Futures Appeals Tribunal, and director of the Financial Dispute Resolution Centre. His cross-disciplinary background in law, engineering, technology and corporate governance brings a practical, commercial perspective to the resolution of complex disputes.
