Brief Introduction
Gavin Denton is the founder and head of Arbitration Chambers. He is a full-time arbitrator with substantial experience in international arbitrations across the Asia-Pacific region, including Hong Kong, Mainland China, Singapore, India the Philippines and Australia. Gavin began his legal career working on the Senate Legal and Constitutional Committee in the Australian Federal Parliament, before working for Minter Ellison in Melbourne, Shanghai and Hong Kong. From 2009 to 2010, Gavin completed his Masters in Chinese Law at Peking University. At the end of 2010, Gavin set up Arbitration Chambers, China’s first set of chambers dedicated to international arbitration. Arbitration Chambers has grown quickly and attracted some of the world’s leading international arbitrators. In 2017, Arbitration Chambers expanded to London and established an office in the historic Middle Temple. Gavin is one of Asia’s youngest and most experienced full-time arbitrators, having sat in over 50 international arbitrations. He specialises in commercial dispute resolution, with significant experience in contract, finance, international trade and commodities disputes. Gavin is on the panel of many of the leading arbitral institutions, including the KLRCA, HKIAC, SIAC, CIETAC, KCAB and the BIAC. Gavin is also a member of ICC Hong Kong’s Arbitration Committee, and Honorary Chair and Founder of the Hong Kong Arbitration Charity Ball.
