Brief Introduction
Akira Moriwaki is a Japanese lawyer with experience in China since 1998. He is active in the Asian legal sphere, including regions such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Singapore, and Myanmar. His areas of specialization encompass direct investment, M&A, dispute resolution, data law, antitrust law, private equity, and intellectual property.
For three consecutive years, he contributed to the ODA legal revision support for the Company Law, Anti-monopoly Law, and Market Circulation Law of China. In 2012, he was recognized as one of the most active lawyers in the Nikkei annual ranking. In 2014, he was appointed as an arbitrator for SHIAC.
In 2022, he was appointed as an arbitrator for the Shanghai Arbitration Commission and an expert mediator for the Shenzhen Qianhai Heung Kong International Commercial Mediation Center. In 2024, he was appointed as a mediator for the Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission Mediation Center and an arbitrator for the Beijing Arbitration Commission.
