Brief Introduction
Robert Pé, FCIArb, is an independent arbitrator and CEDR-accredited mediator and has been a member of Arbitration Chambers in Hong Kong and London since 2017. Prior to that, he was a partner of a leading US-origin international law firm for whom he headed up the Asia disputes practice.
Mr. Pé was based in Hong Kong for two decades and also spent much time in Myanmar, where he was heavily involved in law reform from 2012 to 2019 and also facilitated advice to the then Myanmar government on international trade agreements. He served on a 3 person Advisory Group to the Government’s Coordinating Body for Rule of Law. He also served on the HKIAC Council from 2014 to 2020 and on the ICC’s International Court of Arbitration from 2017 to 2024. He was Co-Chair of the ICC’s Belt and Road Commission from 2020 to 2022.
Mr. Pé now divides his time between the UK, Europe and Asia. In March 2025, he acted as mediator for a cross-border mediation in Hong Kong, involving a New York Bankruptcy Court-appointed “litigation administrator” on the one hand and several hundred potential defendants located in numerous jurisdictions across Asia on the other hand. The mediation was successful and resulted in the agreement of a detailed settlement matrix.
