Michael Wolff
Brief Introduction
Michael Wolff is a New Zealand barrister and independent arbitrator, based between Indonesia and New Zealand, with a practice spanning the Asia-Pacific and MENA regions.
He has seventeen years' experience as counsel, and now practises principally as an arbitrator in Asia and MENA. His work focuses on construction, trade, commercial, technology, and trust disputes. As an arbitrator he has sat as sole arbitrator in domestic ad-hoc and international institutional arbitrations. He has also acted as tribunal secretary in an international arbitration and as an adjudicator on a domestic matter. His arbitral experience includes determining contested interim applications, ruling on jurisdictional and procedural challenges, and managing proceedings from constitution of the tribunal through to the issue of a final award. He brings his trial and appellate advocacy experience in the New Zealand courts to the arbitral process.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, an Associate of the Arbitrators' and Mediators' Institute of New Zealand, and a member of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration and the New Zealand Bar Association.
